Built for real Amazon sellers

Every feature reflects how Amazon actually charges — not a simplified guess.

🏷️

Accurate 6.5% Transaction Fee

Etsy's transaction fee applies to both the item price AND the shipping you charge the buyer. Our calculator applies it correctly to both — many basic tools miss this.

📢

Offsite Ads fee support

Etsy's Offsite Ads charge 15% (or 12% for high-volume sellers) when a buyer comes through an external ad. Toggle it on and see the true margin impact before it surprises you.

🌍

Multi-country payment processing

Etsy payment processing rates vary by country. Choose USA, UK, EU, Canada, or Australia and get the correct rate applied — critical for international sellers.

🔄

Three calculation modes

Start from a sale price, work backwards from desired profit, or set a target margin and find your minimum listing price. Covers every real Etsy pricing decision.

📊

ROI & break-even analysis

See your return on cost and the minimum price needed to break even — essential when pricing handmade goods where your material cost varies per item.

How Amazon fees & profit are calculated

Understanding exactly how Amazon charges you helps you source smarter and price competitively without killing your margins.

Amazon Net Profit Formula

Referral Fee = Sale Price × Category %
Amazon Fees = Referral Fee + FBA Fee + Storage + Closing Fee
Net Profit = Sale Price − Amazon Fees − PPC Cost − COGS
Quick example: You sell an item for $49.99, FBA fee $5.40, COGS $14.00, General category (15%).

Referral Fee = $49.99 × 15% = $7.50
FBA Fee = $5.40 · Storage = $0.50 · COGS = $14.00
Net Profit = $49.99 − $7.50 − $5.40 − $0.50 − $14.00 = $22.59 (45.2%)

Things Amazon sellers usually ask

If it's not here, the calculator usually answers it on its own.

How is Amazon's referral fee calculated?+
Amazon charges a referral fee as a percentage of the total sale price (including shipping, excluding tax). Rates vary by category — typically 6% to 20%. Most categories are 15%. Our calculator lets you input your exact category rate for accurate real-time results.
What is the difference between FBA and FBM?+
FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) means Amazon stores, packs, and ships your products. You pay FBA fees per unit (typically $3–$8 depending on size and weight), plus monthly storage fees. FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) means you handle storage and shipping yourself. Use the advanced calculator to compare both and find which gives you better margins.
What is ACoS and how does it affect my profit?+
ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale) is your PPC spend as a percentage of revenue generated from ads. A 25% ACoS means you spent $25 to generate $100 in sales. Enter your ACoS in the advanced calculator to see how it cuts into your net margin. Most profitable Amazon sellers target an ACoS below 30%.
What margin should I target on Amazon?+
Most experienced Amazon sellers target 20–35% net margin after all fees. Amazon's referral fee (15%) + FBA fee ($3–$8) + storage can easily consume 25–35% of your revenue. Factor in PPC spend — anything under 15% net is very risky. Private label sellers typically achieve higher margins than resellers.
Do I need a Professional Seller account?+
Amazon offers two plans: Individual ($0.99 per sale) and Professional ($39.99/month). If you sell more than 40 units/month, the Professional plan is more cost-effective. Professional sellers also get access to Buy Box eligibility, bulk listing, and advertising tools — all critical for scaling.
What are Amazon FBA storage fees?+
Amazon charges monthly storage fees based on the cubic footage your inventory occupies. Standard-size items cost roughly $0.78/cubic foot (Jan–Sep) and $2.40/cubic foot (Oct–Dec, peak season). Long-term storage fees apply to items stored over 365 days. Use the advanced calculator to factor in a per-unit storage cost for accurate margin calculations.
